What are the Four Baskets?
The Four Baskets is a concept introduced to Catherine during time spent at a small spiritual school in India, and are based on ancient Vedic teachings about the primal foundation for life - the timeframe from conception through six hours after birth. Vedic wisdom says, “The root of all dysfunction, disease and disorder of humanity can be traced to disruption in one of these baskets.”
Building upon this concept, I have drawn on my other life experiences - as mother, midwife, and student of psychology and nature - to birth the Four Baskets Healing Process and Four Baskets Facilitator Training.
As the primary foundation of life, the Four Baskets hold our primal experiences; experiences that leave a lasting imprint and form the core ‘lens’ through which we perceive the rest of our life. The Four Baskets create a template for how we will be in relationship with ourselves, our parents, our partners, our children, and our world. By bringing awareness to these connections, deep healing and transformation can and do happen. The Four Baskets timeframes are:
1st Basket - conception (embryonic period)
2nd Basket - gestation (fetal development)
3rd Basket - birth (labor and birth)
4th Basket - first 6 hours (immediate postpartum)
The Four Baskets Healing Process is a supported journey of self-discovery to bring the light of awareness to your earliest experiences in this life - a time that is often veiled in mystery and chalked up to being forgotten.... but this is far from the truth. Our earliest experiences are encoded within us and we can learn ways to unlock access to them. Your first step is to join the Four Baskets Digital Course Companion. Are you ready?
Catherine Lightfoot holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a focus on Child Development and Anthropology and is a retired traditional midwife. She studied yoga and personal spiritual development at a small spiritual school in southern India. Catherine believes that birth is a sacred passage for an emerging conscious being, and mutual respect for all involved is a basic human right. She is most passionate about unveiling awareness of prenatal and perinatal consciousness because peace on Earth begins before birth. This is the focus of her sacred work called the Four Baskets. ‘Four Baskets’ refers to the timeframes of conception, gestation, birth and the first hours after birth. Our earliest experiences within the Four Baskets create the lens through which we perceive the rest of our lives. Bringing awareness to your Four Baskets is a vital step in birthing your own authentic self, and being the change we wish to see in the world. Catherine homesteads with her family in the Missouri Ozarks and can often be found walking among the wildflowers.
